Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 (Choral)

Marina Alexander conducts The Arcadian Chorale (NJ), the Richmond Choral Society (Staten Island), and the Metropolitan Greek Chorale (Manhattan). Noted for her scholarship and innovative programming, she has resurrected rarely heard masterpieces and presented the U.S. or New York area premieres of many works, and enjoyed premieres of her own compositions. In 2002, Ms. Alexander made her Carnegie Hall debut, leading her ensembles in Dvorak’s Te Deum, and has appeared as guest conductor with the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra, Staten Island Philharmonic, and the Mannes Community Orchestra. She has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the College of Staten Island-CUNY for 11 years, teaching Conducting and Music History.


Kevin Jang, Pianist

MacDowell: Piano Concerto No. 2 in D Minor, Op. 23

Kevin Jang, a 16-year-old pianist from Edison, New Jersey, is widely praised for his technical mastery and musical sensitivity. He has won numerous top awards at competitions, including Alberti International Piano Competition, Connecticut International Young Artist Piano Competition, International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington D.C., the Rovere d'Oro International Young Talents Piano Competition in Italy, and the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Concerto Competition 2010-2011. Currently, Kevin studies piano under Susan Starr. He has attended The Juilliard School Pre-College Division with scholarships from the Hecksher Foundation and Gordon Roberts. His former teachers include Victoria Mushkatkol, Chiu-Tze Lin, Yelena Ivanov, and Elena Lisitsian.


Samuel Magill, Cello

Ernst von Dohnányi: Konzertstück for Cello and Orchestra

Cellist Samuel Magill has had a rich and varied career as soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and teacher. Originally the Associate Principal Cellist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Mr. Magill remains a member of that orchestra today. From  1997 to 2005, Mr. Magill was Principal Cellist and featured soloist of the New York Symphonic Ensemble which tours Japan every summer. In 1997 Mr. Magill’s trio, Elysian, were winners of the Artist International Award, which provided this unusual flute, cello and harp trio with a Carnegie Hall debut at Weill Recital Hall.


Greg Ginnascoli, Marimba

Marimba and percussion artist Greg Giannascoli was a winner of the 2001 Artist International New York Recital/Young Artist Competition and was also top prizewinner of the 1997 Patrons of Wisdom International Young Artist Competition held in Toronto, Canada. Greg is a faculty member at the Juilliard Pre-College and is also the coordinator of the percussion department at New Jersey City University. He has presented master classes at some of the top music schools including the Juilliard School and The Manhattan School of Music. Greg will be releasing his 5th solo CD, Prism Rhapsody, in late 2010.
